What actually happens
Here's exactly what happens.
You shouldn't have to sign before you find out what a “strategic partnership” actually means. Here's the calendar first.
We find what's working — and what isn't.
Before we advise on anything, we go through everything. No opinions until we've seen the numbers.
Analyze your budget and the assumptions underneath it
Evaluate cash flow and liquidity
Clean up and optimize your financial structure
Implement critical financial controls
Deliver your Quick Wins Report — hidden risks, cash opportunities, control gaps
You get visibility and control in the first month, not the first quarter.
Included in Advisory CFO and Full Service CFO.
We stay ahead of problems while they're still small.
Weekly is where the small things get caught before they compound.
A 1-on-1 with your CFO, every week
Assess transactions and system accuracy
Flag unusual or unauthorized activity
Monitor income trends and patterns in your revenue
Track cash position against what's coming
You stay informed. We stay proactive.
Full Service CFO — including the weekly 1-on-1. On Advisory this rhythm is monthly.
You don't just get data. You get direction.
Statements by the 8th business day on Full Service, then a conversation about what they actually mean.
Profit & loss and balance sheet — by the 8th business day (Full Service)
Clear insights, not raw data
We join your leadership team meeting
Executive-level financial input on live decisions
One high-impact financial project, completed
Progress happens every single month — not just reporting.
Report production: Full Service CFO. On Advisory, your bookkeeper produces the statements and we bring the analysis. Leadership meetings and monthly projects: Full Service CFO.
You walk into the room already prepared.
Board meetings, lender conversations, donor questions, diligence. The high-stakes rooms.
Present clear financials to your board or stakeholders
Strengthen policies and internal controls
Risk register review and mitigation
Audit and diligence readiness
No more uncertainty in the room.
Included in Advisory CFO and Full Service CFO.
You've built something worth protecting.
The call is 30 minutes. We'll tell you what we'd look at first — and we'll tell you if you're not ready for us yet.

Frequently asked questions
- How much does a fractional CFO cost?
- Ours start at $2,500 a month. Full service is $5,000.
- What's the difference between you and an accountant or bookkeeper?
- Bookkeepers record what has already happened. Accountants focus on compliance and tax. We provide CFO-level leadership — what the numbers mean, what decisions they point to, and how today's choices affect tomorrow's value.
- Do I need a CFO or better bookkeeping?
- If you don't trust your numbers, you need bookkeeping first. A CFO can't forecast on numbers nobody trusts.
- Is the first call really free?
- Yes. It's a discovery conversation — your current financial position, key challenges, and goals — to work out whether we're the right fit.
- Do you work with our existing bookkeeper or finance team?
- Yes, and that's usually how we work best. We don't replace your team. We strengthen the system around the people you already trust.
- What kind of leaders get the most value from working with you?
- Owners who want clearer insight into cash, profitability, and risk. Who care about doing things well and doing them right. Who are navigating growth, complexity, or transition. Who want CFO-level thinking without hiring a full-time executive. Many of our clients are values-led leaders.
- Who is MyGoodCFO not a good fit for?
- Businesses looking only for basic bookkeeping, tax filing, or the lowest-cost option. We're also not a fit if you want reports without engagement, or advice without accountability. We work best with owners and leadership teams who care about clarity, integrity, and building something they're proud of.
- When should a nonprofit hire a CFO instead of a bookkeeper?
- When the questions stop being "what happened" and start being "what should we do."
- How much should a church pay its pastor?
- There's no universal number. It depends on what the church can sustain, what comparable churches pay, and whether it survives a downturn.
- Is a fractional CFO worth it?
- If a wrong financial decision would cost you more than $2,500 a month, yes.
- What does a fractional CFO actually do?
- Forecasts cash, finds margin, prepares you for boards and buyers, and answers the questions your bookkeeper can't.
- How fast will I see something?
- You get a Quick Wins Report inside 30 days — hidden risks, cash opportunities, control gaps.
- When do I get my financials?
- On Full Service, we produce them and they land by the 8th business day, every month. On Advisory, your bookkeeper produces them and we bring the analysis on top.
- How often do I talk to my CFO?
- One-on-one, every month on Advisory. On Full Service it's every week.
- Are you a CPA firm?
- No. We're a fractional CFO and advisory firm. Our team includes experienced accountants and senior finance leaders, but we don't perform audits.
- Is MyGoodCFO part of a larger group?
- Yes. MyGoodCFO, GoodBookkeeping, and MyGoodPR are separate companies under Good Service Company. Same standards, same people behind them, different jobs.
- What's the difference between MyGoodCFO and GoodBookkeeping?
- GoodBookkeeping keeps your books accurate. MyGoodCFO decides what to do with them.
- What size company do you work with?
- Generally $1 million to $20 million. Under $500,000, we'll usually tell you it's too early.
